I love the idea of tea soaps! This was a challenge to make since I needed to paint a design on a large slab of soap. I ended up with this cherry blossom design that I won 'Best Use of Color' for.

Scent: This soap has tart, sweet, and floral bergamot notes that combine with rich black tea to make a scent reminiscent of Earl Grey Tea.

Details: My soaps are handmade using a method called cold process. Coconut, olive, and castor oils are combined with a lye water solution. The resulting batter is then colored, fragranced, and poured into a wooden mold with a silicone liner. The loaf goes through a process called saponification overnight meaning that the lye and oils have become hard soap. There is no lye remaining once this process is finished. After I pull them out of the mold, I cut them into bars and let them cure for six weeks.

Ingredients: olive oil, organic coconut oil, water, sodium hydroxide, canola oil, shea butter, castor oil, sodium lactate, fragrance oil, mica, titanium dioxide, and cocoa powder for color

Notes: The recipe I use creates a very luscious but soft bar of soap. The bars may have been damaged during the packing and shipping process. Any dents are purely cosmetic and will not change the performance of the bar.

If any irritation occurs, please discontinue use immediately.
